I. Responsibilities
1. Market Research and Analysis
◦ Responsible for comprehensive research on Ghana and West Africa regional industry data, policies and regulations, consumption habits, and competitive product dynamics.
◦ Conduct first-hand research: visit markets, wholesalers, retailers, end users, factories, exhibitions.
◦ Conduct secondary research: collect industry reports, customs data, online platform (Jumia/Tonaton) data.
◦ Complete the analysis of market size, price band, channel structure, and competitive advantages and disadvantages.
2. Data & Reporting
◦ Regular outputs: weekly market reports, competitive analysis reports, access to feasibility reports, return on investment calculations.
◦ Use Excel/PPT for data visualization, charts, and reporting materials.
3. Business and development support
Connect ◦ with local government departments, chambers of commerce, Chinese-funded enterprises, potential partners, and customers.
◦ Assist in the company registration, tax, qualification, compliance process.
◦ Provide decision-making basis for product pricing, channel strategy, and market entry program.
4. Daily Execution
Arrange itineraries, interviews, translations, and collations ◦ independently.
◦ Adapt to the intercultural environment and stay abroad for a long time.
Job Requirements
• Education: Bachelor degree or above, international business, marketing, economics, African studies, etc. are preferred.
• Experience:
More than ◦ 2 years of market research/industry analysis/foreign trade/African market experience.
Priority ◦ is given to Ghana/West Africa work/life experience.
◦ Field research, interviews, data modeling, report writing skills.
• Language:
Fluent in ◦ English (working language).
◦ Knowledge of local Ghanaian languages such as Twi is preferred.
◦ Chinese is preferred (docking headquarters).
• Ability:
◦ Proficient in using Office (Excel/PPT).
◦ Independent, stress-resistant, resilient, and good at communication interviews.
◦ Familiarity with West African trade, customs clearance, logistics, taxation, compliance is a priority.
• Other:
◦ May be stationed abroad for a long period of time (at least 1 year).
◦ No criminal record, good health, overseas insurance and visa ability.
